It was possible by optimising the existing filter plant to save 20% of the water consumption.
With installation of the recycling plant, the water consumption was reduced by another 51%.
Due to the water saving, the heating costs and/or electricity consumption fell by 13 and/or 16%.
Additional costs of 16,900 EUR/year arise from the operation of the sludge water treatment
Altogether, the difference between saved and additional overheads results in a profit for H2Oh Tönisvorst of EUR 93,600 per year. Taking into account the financing of the whole project, that still leaves a surplus of EUR 67,000 per year with a financing duration of 10 years.
Furthermore, the quality of the water has improved, as illustrated especially by the combined chlorine. The content of combined chlorine was permanently reduced from a former value of approx. 0.5 mg/l to 0.2 mg/l.
This is an improvement expressed best not in figures, but in the improved well-being of the bathers, and ultimately in a higher visitor frequency.
The bottom line - Mr. Debus, GMF
"The installation of a sludge water treatment plant significantly cuts overheads.
However, when choosing a supplier, not only the performance of the treatment plant is important, but also the expertise available to be able to assess the entire process. Only that ensures the operator will achieve an optimum result."
