SCHÜNEMANN is the market leader in sludge water treatment
SCHÜNEMANN appears at this year's sludge water seminar in Baunatal as the market leader in sludge water treatment, with a total of 50 treatment plants installed in swimming baths. For a brief version of the seminar paper, go to anlagen@sabfilter.de.
SCHÜNEMANN commissions electro-dialysis pilot plant
Having installed more than 60 plants of this type, SCHÜNEMANN has the necessary know-how about treating sludge water from pool water treatment.
Due to the water circulation, there is a build-up of salts. Reverse osmosis is used to counter this effect. Now, SCHÜNEMANN has tested an innovative electro-dialysis process for desalination. A test plant was commissioned in March in the new Nettebad swimming baths in Osnabrück. It not only ensures a low salt content in the pool water, but also simultaneously produces a chlorine solution from the salt filtered out. This pilot project, supported by the German Environment Foundation, is designed to optimise the new process for large-scale use. It is more energy-efficient than reverse osmosis.
SCHÜNEMANN goes East - Co-operation agreement signed with China
China is a country undergoing extremely rapid development, with a strong demand for infrastructure. Simultaneously, its climatic conditions create a serious water supply problem. The groundwater in the Zibo region for instance is pumped from a depth of 100m - and still contains impurities. One solution is recycling waste water to obtain water for industrial use.
The trip was prompted by the preparations for the founding of a joint venture for the manufacturing of plants for waste water treatment and industrial water recycling.
The production building, research capacities and office building are already available. The cooperation agreement was signed during an official ceremony. In February 2006, Schünemann, together with another company, Hengli, is expecting a delegation of representatives from the city of Zibo for further talks in Bremen. Also on the agenda are guided tours of reference plants in sewage treatment works, industrial facilities and also in swimming baths.
